Cultural Diversity An Important Component Of A School Essay

Celebrating cultural diversity is an extremely important component in a school. Having various students from different backgrounds and cultures is a common occurrence in many classrooms around the world. However, sometimes these children do not feel included or accepted and this makes it even more important to celebrate the diversity of the students (Roach, 2015). It is, therefore, the teacher s responsibility to make these children feel even more accepted, because feeling isolated may be extremely harmful to a child. It is important for students to know that there are many different types of families in this world. Each family is unique in its own way. There are some families that are culturally different and some families that have an alternative family structure. Families can differ in many ways, such as economic status, background, and religious traditions. It is also very important for the teacher to understand the family background and function so that the school can put togeth er different strategies for working with the family. It makes a tremendous difference for the families when the school is respectful of their different and unique family situations.
